this island is a master piece of mother nature. it was used as a war stationary for a long time but as soon as it was left alone it bloomed again. it is a national park today kept safe by serbian military forces. there is a movable bridge that connects the island to land every day and opens up every night. it has a wonderfull fine-sand beach called "LIDO" that provides a sanctuary for 5 giant festivals from this year. it's really big and there is place for everyone. in the heat of the season it can get crowded on the beach but otherwise it is verrrrrry peacefull. the island is a sanctuary for hundreds of species of wildlife although it's in the middle of the city. the part were the bridge connects is managed for tourists but if you'r a real adventurer go inside! the rest is almost 90% ! of the island and it's not populated. WARNING!!! PLEASE do not leave any garbage on the island. do not be encouraged by the collections you see there. you are damaging one of europes biggest treasures.

you can reach it buy taking a bus to "zemun" to hotel "yugoslavia" and asking for the "ponton" bridge. have a nice day! go by daylight when the bridge is open.
