The Underwater Observatory Marine Park, Eilat
by Paul2001

The Underwater Observatory Marine Park in Eilat is a great way to introduce yourself to the wonders of the marine life in the Red Sea if you are not up to snorkelling or diving. The Observatory is equiped with a shark tank, turtle tanks and an aquarium museum. There is also a Yellow Submarine ride that seems pretty standard for this sort of attraction, where you can ride in and out of the coral reef. Most fascinating for me was the Underwater Observatory which has been built amongst the offshore coral reef and is an excellent place to observe marine life.
In the White Tower overhead there is a cafe while at the top of the tower there is a Lookout Terrace. My one problem with this attraction was that it was rather expensive. It now cost 63 NIS or about $15.00 US for adult admission.
LIke so many other tourist attractions in Israel, it is closed on Saturdays. Otherwise the admission hours are from 0830 to 1630 excepts till 1500 on Fridays.

Directions: Seven kilometers south of Eilat. It can be reached by Bus #15
