  Lawrence City Hall

The Lawrence City Hall sits on the bank of the Kansas River, next to the only dam on that river. During winter months, eagles can be seen nesting in nearby trees. Because the water at the base of the dam seldom freezes, the beautiful birds can usually be assured access to open water and to fish.

Only guessing here, but the sculpture seen in front of the city hall might be a tribute to the graceful flight of the eagle.

Directions: Corner of Massachusetts Street and 6th Street.
