The renovated Union Pacific Train Depot is now operated as a visitor's center. Check out the old train station, use the "powder rooms" and get maps and recommendations for your tour of Lawrence. Displays relive the timultuous days of "Bleeding Kansas" before the Civil War began in the east. Take a stroll in the gardens (in season).

Hours are Mon - Sat 8:30 to 5:30 and Sun 1to 5. Winter hours are Mon - Sat 9 to 5 and Sun 1 to 5.

Directions: Corner of North Second and Locust Streets, just across the Kansas River bridge from downtown. If you exit the turnpike at the East Lawrence exit, you will see the train depot on your left as you drive into town.
