This square at Unter den Linden has a sad past. It was here where the Nazi on 10 May 1933 burned books by Jewish authors and other authors they didn't like. There is an interesting memorial here now, kind of an underground bookshelf you can see through a glass floor.

Heinrich Heine's sentence means "Where they burn books in the end they will also burn people". I bet he didn't know how right he was ....
