Well if you want the rush of adrenaline, then I guess you had better head for the Kawarau Bridge, the world's first bungy site. This is in the South Island. Built in 1880 with a span of 91m and 43 m above the Kawarau River. The bridge provided access to the Wakatipu Goldfields. It was in 1988 that the world's first commercial bungy jump was set up here.

Before you ask me, no I did not attempt the jump, just watched and listened to every one else scream. "They must be mad" that thought kept running through my mind. Now if I was younger perhaps !!!!!!!

Another more serene experience was going through the Waitomo Caves (North Island) to see the glow worms. It is dark, and you look up at the cave ceiling and see all the twinkling glow worms.
