"Church of Charles XI" Kaarli Kirik - St Charles Xl Church Tip by Leipzig

  Church of Charles XI
by Leipzig

The first church on this place was made of woods in 1670. As the church was built outside the city fortification it burnt down in 1710 when the Russians attacted Tallinn.
The Parish of the church collected money to build a new one. Finally in 1862 a new one was started to build. In 1882 the church was completed. Over the years several additions were made, for example the clock of 1909.
