Already described in my Slovenia pages and in the travellogue about wandering through the old WWI battlefields high above Kobarid. This peak is on the SW boundary of the park. Seen from the west along the Soca Valley near Kobarid, the peak is very dramatic, towering high into the air in Matterhorn-fashion. The history of the desperate fighting that took place up here make the grand scenery that much more interesting.

The peak can be reached by trails emanating from planinas to the south (fully exposed to the sun); from the east (either the Tolmin valley or the Komna Plateau above the west end of Bohinj Lake); the north (Lepena valley) or the extreme iron route to the west, coming up from Dreznica.
