The Old Synagogoe (Synagoga Stara) is the oldest remainded synagogue in Poland and one of the most remarkable monument of Jewish sacral architecture. Built in 15th and 16th centuries probably by Jews who had been forced to leave Prague. Almost completely burned during a big fire in 1557. Reconstrued by an excellent architect from Florence, Matteo Gucci in a Reneissaince style. Destrucions from years of the WW II was repaired afer war. In 1958 Jewish communities transferred building to the city authorities. Now there is a part of the Historical Museum o Krakow, where are presentes collection of Jewish artistic craftmanship and both religious and lay exhibits.
