Way down in the jungle - Um Bongo

There are a number of tours operated by different operators, but the tourist information guy is happy to recommend the full day tour with CS Travel (98 Ringitt). The price is a touch on the expensive side, but you are transported by ancient land-Rover, rather than by bus.

The highlight of the trip is a two-hour Jungle walk. In some places it really feels like you are a very long way from civilisation.

There are some gimmicks on the way like a demonstration of how to use a blow-pipe (actually quite easy over a short distance), and a swing on a vine - just like tarzan.

The guide was knowledgeable about the plants and animals including a bug which when picked up looked just like a shell.

As he placed it on my wife's hand the thing woke up, unfurled itself and brought out thousands of legs. The scream could be heard the other side of the Jungle.

Address: Ask at the Tourist Information at the Bus Station
