This synagogue of reformed Jews was built in 1862 by the Association of Progressive Jews. The building of the temple and all innovations brought to liturgy caused a great deal of controversy and protests of ortodox Jews, mostly those who attended to Remuh synagogue. In the Tempel Synagogue sermons were preached in Polish and German by accademic preachers. The ortodox rabbi also today do not visit this temple.
