The Moose's Tooth: "Eat great local food, and cheap to boot!" Anchorage Restaurant Tip by calliopejen

Best pizza ever made!! Everyone's favorite restaurant in Anchorage, especially among the younger, granola crowd. Great atmosphere with fun murals and old beer bottles (the restaurant is also a brewery), and first tap parties every month with live music. If you want to eat where actual Alaskans eat, come here on your visit. Be prepared for a wait though--they don't accept reservations (as far as I know, at least), and a 45 minute wait is typical for weekends at dinnertime. Go early or late, or stop in for their pizza-by-the-slice lunch special.
Also, the spin-off Bear Tooth Theatrepub is a ton of fun. Order before the movie starts, and they'll bring you your meal during the movie. You'll probably want to go early though; they only have one smallish screen, and movies sell out fast.
Favorite Dish: I like the pesto chicken pizza, but they're all good. Be sure to get breadsticks with the house sauce as an appetizer--the best breadsticks you'll ever eat! (For two people, an order of breadsticks and a pizza is usually plenty, and will normally run $10-15.)
For vegetarians, there are quite a few vegetarian pizzas, and the salads are excellent. My favorite is the house salad with tomatoes, feta cheese, and a pesto vinagrette dressing.
