"Tierra Santa" Tierra Santa - Religious Theme Park Tip by missbutler

This place has to be seen to be believed. It claims to be the world's first religious theme park. The park attempts to recreate the Holy Land, 1st century AD. The ticket-takers, guides and consessioneers are all decked out in period costume -- especially funny when they are on smoking away, chatting ontheir cellphones. It's really well-done... Incredibly life-like fiberglass figures are placed around the park, recreating scenes from biblical history, Jesus's life, debauched Romans and early pilgrims. I happen to be a devout Catholic and wasn't offended... there is a very sweet sincerity to its kitschiness. Akin to Graceland.
