"Manzana de Las Luces" Manzana De Las Luces - Block of the Enlightened Tip by missbutler

Built by the Jesuits in the 17th century as a center for learning, worship and administration for their missionary projects (you can imagine Jeremy Irons right out of "The Mission" walking thru the cloisters.) Make sure you are able to see the underground tunnels were used for defense and smuggling and check out the attached Church of St. Ignatius -- oldest in BsAs. There is also a market with some decent stalls - but better things to be found elsewhere.

Address: 272 Peru b/w Moreno & Alsina
