by Nobbe

The entrance to the Castle area is by way of the Vicars Choral which has been restored and now serves as a Museum. It houses the Original St Patrick?s Cross (12th C) which was set into the coronation stone (4th C). A replica has been set in its place. On the photo you will see the copy of the original one. St Patrick was said to have visited Cashel in 450AD and the cross was erected in his honor.
