A 16km long aqueduct was built to channel water from the south to this fountain. The fountain has eight circular basins decorated with nymphs, tritons, dolphins, mermaids, cherubs and mythical creatures. In the 14th century the carved lions were incorporated and formerly supported a statue of Neptune.

Address: Prefecture of Heraklion
