Maxim's of course! But on the cheaper side of life: most restaurants in Paris are good (or they don't last long!). Best is to decide what kind of food you want to eat and walk the busy streets of Paris stopping in front of the menus and looking at the prices. Avoid any fast food places. They are cheap but they taste the same the world over so why come to Paris to eat at ....
Complicated, French food is always complicated. But who cares as long as it's good. It's usually expensive compared to where you come from, but if you wanted a cheap vacation, then Paris is not the place to come. With all the shops, restaurants, hotels, you are sure to go back home broke, but happy!

Favorite Dish: Steak and chips at any restaurant. I like Hippopotamus, big chain of steak food type restaurants. Good quality.
Otherwise, just go for it, try anything. Don't even try to figure out what it means ... just eat it. 70 per cent of the time, you will like it, and if you don't then you should not travel, you are safer staying at home.

Directions: The 5th arrondissement (Latin quarters) is a good place to find resonably cheap but good food, more expensive is the 8th (Champs Elysees, George V, Concorde areas). You have to shop and look around an
