  Faded & Half-naked...in Split
by coceng

2 hours, enough time for me to be in Split I thought. I was damn wrong as later I discovered I missed a few vital sights....C'est la vie of a traveller.
The photo shows a commanding sight in Split. No, not the half naked guy. The beautiful faded building behind him !
There shouldn't be a restaurant in the area I think because it somehow marrs the sight.
The tourist office was also in the building, behind the half naked guy who was walking towards me.
Half naked guy is standing on a square called Peristyle. This was the center of
the Palace. The 'building' in the back is Protiron. It marked the entrance to
emperor's rooms.
This is the best preserved part of the original Palace. (tower
and houses were added, but columns remain original from the antiquity).

Note: Protiron is quite 'experty' term. Peristyle is enough to describe this place. Term provided by diocletianvs.
