Just like anywhere else you should be aware of your surroundings. This is especially true in train stations. As you can imagine there are a lot of people moving about, lots of confusion and lots of distractions. Make sure that you have your bag and belongings secure when you make your way through the train station.

When you get off of the train in Prague you will be greeted by people who want you to rent their apartments. Most of these, I am told are legitimate however I am always skeptical of these situations. You may be approached by many of these people all at once as you step off of the train. This would be a good time to make sure your belongings are secure.

Another place to be careful of is the park near the train station at night. I am told that the junkies and other undesirables hang out here. They actually tend to hang out here all day it seems. If you are in this area it is best to stick to the street and well lit areas. I have walked through the park during the day and it's not too bad as long as you walk with confidence and mind your business. None the less, it's not recommended.
