  The Cathedral, Zagreb

The tower of the Cathedral. It had some kind of renovation when I was there. Pretty impressive sight.
If only I had somebody there to tell me about the Cathedral when I was in Zagreb.
It is The Cathedral of The Assumption Of The Blessed Virgin Mary. What a mouthful !
Formerly it was called St. Stephen's.
It is situated on Kaptol Square.
The twin spires soar above the Zagreb & it was built on a former Romanesque church, which was destroyed by the Tatar invasion in 1242.
Contruction on this Cathedral started in the 2nd half of the 13th century.
I didn't go in unfortunately.
The opening time is :
7 am to 7.30 pm daily.

Somebody pointed to me that this Cathedral is always in constant renovation !
"I've never seen it without scaffoldings !".

Address: Kaptol
