The Binnenhof is the home of The Netherlands Parliament. It has a pictureques setting on a small lake with a fountain in the middle. The building itself is said to have had its origins in 13th century as a hunting lodge for the counts of Holland. They are a very beautiful congregation of buildings. Especially noteworthy is the stunning Hall of the Knights where the Queen of Holland opens parliament. The hall has a magnificent oak ceiling and adorned with coats of arms and flags. All very regal. There actually is not much else worth seeing at the Binnenhof. However because of its conveinent location to great art gallery, the Mauritshuis it is worth while to stop in here too. I did before the Mauritshuis opened.
