The Hortus Botanicus is right in the centre of the city, and it is the oldest botanical garden in The Netherlands. Plants from all over the world have been carefully planted zand cared for here for more than four centuries. It was originally founded as a centre for research and study but today it is an important part of this lovely cities cultural history and also a quiet oasis of green in the centre.
