All plant lovers must visit here. Although a bit small, the UNC Botanical Garden has a large array of diverse plants native to the Carolinas. The gardens are well kept and can only be described as beautiful. There are several sculptures of various animals here, and even a giant chessboard with two feet tall pieces. There is no admission fee, but they do have a small bookstore. There is also some free information on the plants they have there. You can even buy several types of plants here, from pitcher plants to venus fly traps. Not really a tourist activity perse, but this was the highlight of my trip to Chapel Hill.
