Mecsek Mountains are the southest situated 500 km² mountains. Round and round it is bordered by 250-300 high hilly countries. It is divided into Eastern- and Western - Mecsek. The highest point of Western - Mecsek is Tubes (612 m), it is followed by Misina (534 m) giving a beautiful view and Jakab - hill that is well - known about its interesting rock formations and archeological finds. The highest emergences of Eastern - Mecsek are: Zengõvár, Hármas - hill , Dobogó and Somlyó . The surface of Mecsek - mountains are very rich in forms. Deep valleys alternates with rocky tips giving beautifil views. The tourists meet every step interesting and rare karst forms and natural phenomena. These are: Abaliget - limestone cave, Orfû - spring, Tettye in Pécs and a lot of karst spring abounding in water. The mild climate of Mecsek is the mainest touristical attraction of the environs.The most glaring characteristic of flora is that the higher and colder part of the mountains are covered with rich forests and its sunshiny southern sides are covered with carefully cultivated vineyards under 300-350 metres. Fauna of Mecsek is the same as in the other Hungarian mountains have.
