"Birdwatching on the high seas" Pleubian Things to Do Tip by Sinjoor
Pleubian Things to Do: 10 reviews and 10 photos
About ten miles to the north off the "Côte de Granit Rose" the seabird reserveof the "Sept Îles" warrants a visit. Leaving either from the port of Trégastel or Perros-Guirec the tour boats head for the rollercoaster ride towards the collection of seven islands that comprise the natural reserve. First stop is the "Île Rouzic", the most eastern of the tiny archipelago and home to thousands of seabirds such as shags and gannets. From there the boat heads for "Île des Moines", where a 45 minute stop is planned, during which the ancient fort and lighthouse can be visited and ,with any luck , seals can be spotted. Finally the passengers are collected for the return trip back to the mainland passing by some of the smaller islands on which seals also are known to bask. During the trip the gulls that follow the boats steadily can be hand fed. In general it is an excursion which may enchant both young and old.
Address: Plage de Trestraou - 22700 Perros-Guirec
Directions: Arriving at Trégastel follow directions towards "Aquarium Marine" and "Embarcadère". In front of the Marine Aquarium a large parking lot is available, from which it is but a few minutes by foot to the embarking quay, right around the corner.
