"Museum of National Antiquities / Historiska muséet" Top 5 Page for this destination Historiska Museet - Historical Museum Tip by Sjalen

The museum exhibits a viking house, a runestone copy and some other early legacies but that part of it feels quite stuffy and the displays don't always have explanations in English. What is worth coming for is however the famous Gold Room where centuries of gold and jewellery treasures are beautifully displayed in a dark and circular room in the cellar. The hammer of Thor and other gems are fantastic. Apart from this there are also some more modern special exhibitions from time to time and the museum shop is good for history buffs.
