"Aboriginal Cave art" Kakadu National Park Things to Do Tip by kooka3

Kakadu National Park Things to Do: 144 reviews and 343 photos

If you aren't on a tour, make sure you talk to a park ranger to find out where you can view some of the traditional Aboriginal art in caves and on rocks around the Park. There are over 300 sites in the Park with art that are accessible to the public. The aboriginal groups know of many more that are private. If you head towards Ubirr/ Obiri, you can see a lot of the public displays. There is some walking involved to get in to this area.

Learn about some of the myths associated with these stick figures and "xrays" of animals. If you'll lucky, you'll get to see drawings of animals that are now extinct.
