"Australian wines are great" Wineries Tip by kooka3

Wineries, Sydney: 15 reviews and 13 photos

If you can get out to the Hunter or Cowra Valley to visit some wineries, you won't be disappointed. Although people generally accept the Barossa Valley as producing the best Aussie wines, the Hunter Valley definitely comes in close second -- although I tend to favor them myself.

The Hunter valley makes for a great day trip out of Sydney, and you can definitely combine this with a trip to the Blue Mountains.

One great place is Mudgee - not quite the Hunter Valley (it's North of the H.V. and NW of Sydney), but it's a cute town and has a heap of wineries around it. My friend got married in one of the wineries, and it was beautiful.
