Porta San Giacomo is undoubtedly the most spectacular scenery of the town walls. It was erected in 1592 and designed by Bomaiuto Lorini, entirely built in white-pink marble from Zandobbio. The gate communicating with Sant' Alessandro's meadow, where the first of prestigious Fiera once stood.
Porta San Giacomo took the name of an ancient church which had fallen prey of the demolition squads at the time of the construction of the Walls.
