Zip Fusion Sushi: "Not the greatest sushi" Los Angeles Restaurant Tip by Stasigrace

This restaurant has fabulous decor and is in a hip setting in the downtown artists district.
The service is gracious and kind but very slow.

Unfortunately, our salmon sushi was fishy-smelling and the snapper was too chewy to even eat.

They do have interesting specialty rolls that we didn't try which might be good. And I've read good things about the shrimp ravioli and other California fusion dishes.

Favorite Dish: The house sake (cold) is good enough and a bargain at $7.50 for more than two can (or should) drink.
The tuna was good, and a deep blood red. The rolls are huge!
The best part was the price. We didn't eat much (just one sampler platter and house sake), but we got out of there spending only $23, which has to be some kind of sushi restaurant record.
At happy hour (5-6:30 M-F) the sushi and entrees (inc. sampler platters) are 30% off. If you're not very hungry the largest sampler is enough for two ($15.50 or less at happy hour).
