  Pearly Kings in Convent Garden

This is such a delightful place. Very active with lots going on.These three Pearly Kings were there. Go to www.bbc.co.uk/dna/placelondon/A721595
to read about their history. There are lots of shops here selling chinaware, gifts, a body shop, etc. There is also a closed market. Very near by there is a Marks & Spencers too, as well as other large shops. And lots of bars and restaurants.
There is a lot of entertaining going on, such as someone riding a one-wheel bicycle (don't know the correct name for them), and others in various costumes, who stand or sit still, moving very slowly, especially when coins are put into their hats or boxes.
There is a really special atmosphere here and crowds of people. I was lucky as I visited there on a nice hot day. The majority of shops open at 10am and close from 7pm. I went there on a Sunday morning - the shops inside Convent Garden opened at 10.30am but other shops opened between 12noon-6pm.
I needed to get a couple of small gifts and I found in the covered market very nice necklaces for 5 pounds each.
The London Transport Museum is also located on the Piazza
This is a MUST place to visit.
