Other than by taking your chances with one of our pricey taxi companies, I would say that the best way to get around the downtown core would either be by walking or hopping on one of the city's fine T.T.C Subway trains. It'll cost $2,25 to get you from A to B and the system covers a large cross section of the city. Sure, the seats may not be as plush and comfy as the ones you flew in on, and the ride is usually about as smooth as trying to use Roller-blades on a gravel road, but it will get you where you want to go in a clean, efficient and relatively timely manner. Oh, and don't worry; the North/South-East/West layout is about as straightforward and easy to navigate as it can get, especially if you compare it to something like London's Tube system. Yikes, mate!
