"New York Botanical Gardens" New York Botanical Garden Tip by Zmrzlina

My first visit was in April 2003 and I must return because it was too short a visit. This is 250 acres of gardens and real forest. I walked for only 1 hour and would love to have walked many more. It is a relatively cheap outing, too..$6 for admission to all parts of the gardens.

Don't do what I did and take the subway. I got so lost in whatever part of the city I got off the subway at and the few people I asked for directions didn't speak English. Finally found the place by seeing a huge clump of green.

Address: Bronx River Parkway and Fordham Road
Directions: You can get there by Metro trains, but those are expensive (I did take one back to Manhattan). There are directions on the website, but bring a compass because it is hard to know which way is SE when you get off the subway!
Phone: (718) 817-8700
