"Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary" Malaysia Things to Do Tip by markbrynn

Malaysia Things to Do: 727 reviews and 1,093 photos

You have to go in with the right expectations. You're going to see some of the most intelligent animals in the world eating lunch. The museum/informative area is quite interesting, and the boardwalk out into the jungle where you see the orang utans is attractive, but the whole experience can take all of 2 hours. Not so short, but not really enough to justify a trip out to Sabah on its own.

So, make sure you check out some of the other attractions in Sabah (and Sarawak) to make the trip worthwhile.

In case it's not coming across well. I really enjoyed seeing the orang utans. It's definitely better than a zoo. If you're in the area try to see it.

Address: Somewhere south of Kota Kinabalu
Directions: Easy to find if you ask around or check in guide books.
It's on Sabah in East Malaysia (island of Borneo)
