There is only one true way to visit the Valley Of The Kings, and that is by donkey. Not so much because it is convenient, it certainly isn't comfortable and feels far from romantic. It's just so funny to see your mates sitting on a donkey !! It just cracks me up !!

Mark, Netti and myself set off from the small village on the west bank opposite Luxor on our mighty mules when a small dog ran our from someones yard and bit Netti's donkey on the ankle. The normaly passive beast went beserk and took off down the track. This signalled the other two to give chase. So there we were, 'galloping' our donkeys through the village when a stirrup comes lose on Netti's saddle and she tumbles off, leaning out to grab hold of something to save her, which happened to be Mark, who fell back and grabbed me. We crashed into the dirt creating a cloud of dust, much to the delight of a local watching nearby who almost wet his jelabea.

Oh, and the tombs are great, by the way!
