At the end of Via dei Priori stands the Torre degli Sciri (the Tower of Sciri family), dating back in the 12th century, the only one remained intact among the numerous ones which existed in the town, punctually demolished when the owners were banished. In the 12th and 13th centuries there were around seventy towers in the city of Perugia.
Houses in the immediate surroundings of the tower once belonged to noble clan Oddi and from 16th century owned by the family Sciri. On the lower part of the tower there is a coat of arms, the foot of a chicken, which represents the family crest of Sciri.
