One of Boxtel's stabilising factors was the large convent that was here from centuries ago. This religious place drew many believers to Boxtel and it provided as well care for the weak and education for the more wealthier inhabitants (like convents, abbeys and monastries often were representing). The complex is quite substantial and now-a-days houses the dance and music school of Boxtel and surroundings.
