Visit the BLUE MOUNTAINS at Katoomba.
Called the Blue Mountains due its bluish tinge seen when the sun shines through the abundant eculaptyus vapor given off by the leaves.
Katoomba is a tourist resort famous for the Three Sisters called Meenhi, Weemala, and Gunnedoo, an awesome rock formation on the edge of the cliff overlooking the Jamison Valley. The Katoomba Scenic Railway is located nearby on the site of abandoned coal mines. The Scenic Railway was built around 1878 for a coal mine in the Jamison Valley. . The Scenic Railway is the world's STEEPEST incline railway. It descends 415 metres at a maximum grade of 52 degrees.
