St Mellons in Teignmouth is one of the nicest places I have stayed at in Teignmouth. Set in Orchard gardens, a quiet back street just ten minutes from the seafront, is a family run hotel ran personally by Diane and Alan Ashby since 1985.

On arrival in Teignmouth if you ring up in time, they can arrange for you and your luggage to be picked up from the train station, which is really kind of them. The room I stayed in was on the ground floor, all rooms have en-suit bathrooms & tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lounge upstairs for people to relax in with a huge array of books & colour fast text TV, althrough there is a TV in the rooms with remote control. Every morning there is a choice of a continental or cooked breakfast, which is really tasty. The evening meals are nice too, althrough there is no evening meal on Sundays, the roast at 1pm is great.

The Mellons are good with people who have special diet's, my mum had diabetes & she found the meals very good. They will also help you with your travel arrangements, leafletts are also on hand in the dining room.

Unique Qualities: Friendly staff are always on hand, special diet's are catered for. All bedrooms have clock radio's, TV and showers. There are also many decorated plates on the walls of steam trains.
