"Maniac drivers" Egypt Warnings Or Dangers Tip by gussymons

Egypt Warnings and Dangers: 366 reviews and 200 photos

In order to save bulb-life, drivers in Hurghada (and I have no reason to believe it doesn't happen elsewhere in Egypt) will not actually use their headlamps at night unless they think they see a car coming in the opposite direction.

Yes folks. Forget Disneyland or any other tame ride. This is white-knuckle living in the extreme. These crazy drivers only turn on the headlamps for seconds at a time. Ironically, I think this wears down the bulb / battery quicker than just keeping them on the whole time.

Wear seat-belts if you have them. If not, pray to the local deity.
