If you head down the back streets, you will be surprised by little courtyards and squares. Some are filled with colourful flowers, some have fountains, some have beautiful buildings. I liked this horse fountain which I found in a square, I haven't come across one in my travels for a long time and it looked so picturesque with the painted house behind it.
