"Glasgow University, Kelvingrove Art Gallery/Garden" Kelvingrove Tip by rugbyspark

Kelvingrove, Glasgow: 30 reviews and 61 photos

This is by far the most beautiful area of Glasgow, and the architecture of the buildings (blond and red sandstone) speak volumes about the depth of history here. You could spend a whole day wandering around in the west end, soaking up the scenery and wildfowl in Kelvingrove Gardens, checking out some of Scotland's most famous artists in the Gallery, and standing in awe of the fact that a wealthy Scotsman paid quite a bit of money to move the University Gatehouse (brick by brick) from its former location in the south end.

Address: West End (near Byres Street/Partick train Station)
Directions: Take the tube to Partick Station or drive to Byres Street - trendy and expensive area to shop/drink/eat but worth every penny (even if you're on a budget)
