  Moose in Algonquin Park
by sim1

Gawunk, Gawunk... the sound of the moose. This one was too busy eating to make any sound, but I could hear it lots of times in the distance while watching the sunset on Pog Lake. Every time that brought a smile on my face, gawunk, gawunk, I can hear you moose! And I would think back at this moment watching the moose in all peace and quiet.
Moose are abundant in Algonquin and you have a very good chance of spotting one. Highway 60 is the easiest way, but I think along a trail like this or during a canoe trip is the most beautiful way to spot moose.
You've got a good chance of spotting the moose here at West Rose Lake on The Mizzie Lake trail in June or July, when the moose spend a great deal of time in shallow ponds and lakes.

Directions: Mizzie Lake Trail at 15.4 kilometers from the West Gate of Algonquin Park.
