  Spotting a moose in Algonquin

The moose are so ugly that they actually become beautiful. Hahaha, that's what I think anyway. With their long crooked legs, they are much taller than you would suggest when you see them in the water like this. They have a long pointy snout and a weird hump on their back that don't make them look any prettier. Hahaha, but I still love to watch them, especially the male with the big antlers.
Along highway 60 I mostly see female or young moose, but this one was a lot bigger and more impressive to see. I stood there for a very long time, I know the moose knew I was there, but it didn't seem to be bothered by it. You have to watch out though and never get too close. A moose can be surprisingly quick, and I wouldn't wish that a moose got mad at me!

Directions: Mizzie Lake Trail at 15.4 kilometers from the West Gate of Algonquin Park.
