"Basilica di S.Petronio" San Petronio Tip by vysnaite

San Petronio, Bologna: 33 reviews and 86 photos

It's the main church you see in Piazza Maggiore, with rose and white marmur and some shadows of brown. Brought up in XIV finished in XVII century. Plan of the church is orientated to North- sousth. One interesting thing inside the church is a crossing meridian, you can see it on the ground, with astrological sighns. IT was made by geographer Cassini in XVIII century. One of the most famous chapels inside the church is the fourth on the left where you can see frescoes of Giovanni from Modena. there is portrayted hell, paradaside ecc.

by the way, if it's summer and you are with naked shoulders take something for covering them inside the church. rules, rules..
