The Grand'Place -- Jazz is around the corner
by DrewV

Assuming that you have neither the patience nor the inclination to go hard-core into the cercle scene, might I recommend the cool refreshing upstairs of Jazz Matazz? You can chill on sofas while drowning your sorrows with a pint of something tasty and hobnobbing with friends. I started many an evening at Jazz, and ended a few there as well.

The drink of choice here is the Peche Melle Bush, an incredible concoction that only the Belgians could imagine. Here's the recipe:

With your left hand, hold a bottle of Bush, a rich 12% beer thought to be the most alcoholic in all of Belgium.

With the other hand (the right, if you've been paying attention), hold a bottle of Peche, a peach-flavoured lambic.

Invert both bottles into a flagon supplied by your friendly hostess.

Watch the two beers mingle like the waters of two great rivers.

Then drink the light, happy result.

Be very inebriated.

Stumble home.

Dress Code: Whatever. Dude, it's Louvain-la-Neuve. If you dress up here, you clearly haven't been out yet.

Directions: On the Grand'Place, by the new cinema
Theme: Nightclub
