Fondest memory: The daily 'market' was really interesting. We watched as masses of people got off the bus carrying a bunch of their possessions, walked over to the front of a mosque or down by the docks, laid down a blanket or set up a table, put the items out on display and then tried to sell them. Unlike the shop keepers who were always trying to get our attention and 'help us spend our money,' these people would avoid even looking at us. I believe this is because they could not speak English and we could not speak Turkish. I still really enjoyed looking at everything. (this picture is hard to make out this small but if you click on it to get a better view you can see me in the midst of all of sellers)
