"National Express" United Kingdom Transportation Tip by monkeyfeesh

United Kingdom Transportation: 268 reviews and 190 photos

The National Distress (AKA National Express, as immortalised by The Divine Comedy) coach system is probably the most inexpensive way to get around the country. It's far from comfortable, but the number of destinations it can take you to exhaust more or less every possibility you can think of. Personally, after spending six hours having to listen to some guy singing two lines from a Verve song repeatedly and having no way to escape thanks to the extremely large woman who was using half my seat as well as her own, I prefer to Go By Train whenever possible. But sometimes the coach is just more convenient, easier, and cheaper, particularly for overnight journeys.
