Favorite thing: This is Lions Gate Bridge, the traffic bottleneck to North Vancouver and Horseshoe Bay ferry terminals. As you can see in photo it's a 3-lane bridge. How many lanes open in which direction depends on traffic. Certain time on weekdays the bridge is completely shut in 1 direction and open only for the other.

Partially inside the popular Stanley Park, this suspended bridge starts to rise above ground in the Park when you travel north bound. That's why in many Stanley Park photos you see the bridge in the background from different angles. However, getting on the bridge from the Park is not easy. After spending my afternoon wondering about Stanley Park, I had to return to West Georgia St. in West End to enter the bridge and continue my journey north.

Fondest memory: A nice spot to photograph Lions Gate Bridge is Prospect Point Lookout in Stanley Park, where you can admire its beautiful curves (see my Vancouver intro page). Photo shown here is taken from Stanley Park Drive overpass, not too far from Prospect Point Cafe.
