Various Indian cafés: "Indian food on a budget" Manchester Restaurant Tip by monkeyfeesh

Manchester Restaurants: 318 reviews and 493 photos

Around the back of the Arndale, just off High street and on various streets around there, you'll find a few Indian caf?s. The one I generally go in is Little Aladdin (72 High Street), where you can buy a plate of rice with three scoops of various curries for only ý3.50. Their selection includes mixed veg, spinach, and chicken. Other options include the Shalimar, which personally think is a little pricy and not as good, Yadgar (90 High Street), which looks good, and This & That (3 Soap Street), which I've heard good things about. They tend to close between 6 and 7pm, with the exception of This & That, which closes at 3pm.

Favorite Dish: 3 curries with rice - cheap and tasty - usually go for chicken curry, keema mattar (minced lamb and peas) and aloo gobi (potato and cauliflower)

Address: Around High Street
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: Follow the tramline from Market Street towards Shude Hill or vice versa. Look for the Shalimar on the corner, and just wander round the streets in that little area.
Price: less than US$10
Rating: 4
Theme: Indian
